Ivan had a kitchen extension completed 5 years ago, but began to suffer with a blocked sink that would slowly drain away and cause a extremely strong smelling odor, and was unable to use a range of white goods. After having a nationwide drainage company take a look at the issue, his drain was jetted using high pressured water. This resolved the issue for 24 hours, but soon enough the drain began to block again. LDW Drainage attended and carried out a CCTV survey, finding that the drain came to a stop.

LDW advised that unfortunately a dig-up repair was necessary and soon began works. LDW took every precaution to protect Ivan’s kitchen throughout the process, installing protective sheets over all walls, surfaces, furniture and bi-fold doors. We began by breaking out the concrete, and hand digging to reveal the drainage below Ivans kitchen floor. We came across an old salt glaze external gully pot, which the builders had unfortunately built over. The swan neck within the gully pot was the cause of Ivan’s issues, resulting in a mass collection of fat, oils and grease. LDW removed the gully pot, and installed a new underground drainage system, that would allow Ivan’s white goods and sink to all run freely once again. The task took a total of two days, and throughout the process Ivan’s kitchen was kept clean and tidy.
