We were contacted to supply the Groundworks and Brickwork for the new steel frame storage shed on site at Jewson on Forde Road, Newton Abbot. Due to the branches success, they required an expansion of storage to ensure that their branch could continue to supply the South West efficiently. LDW Group began by clearing the site of tree stumps and green waste, and breaking out excess concrete to finished floor level. We removed the old mesh fencing and supplied Jewson with security palisade fencing. We then excavated the concrete pads and strip foundations ready for the piling to begin. Once the piling was fixed into place and the frame was erected, we poured the concrete pads and strip foundations.

We then installed an electric service trench with ducting ready for the building to be connected to the mains. After the building frame was in place, LDW group installed approximately 84 linear meters of brick and blockwork around the perimeter. We then began on the concrete floor preparation which included laying and heavily compacting MOT type 1 and the installation of mesh reinforcing. Once the ground was prepared, we poured and finished approximately 550m2 of concrete using a power float to and finished by applying Proseal curing agent, expansion joints were then added to control expansion and contraction of the concrete.  We finally installed concrete ramps finished with rails for easy access and agress into the new building.
